2023 Writing Retreat

Maybe you’ve been writing for years. Maybe you’ve never had the courage or the opportunity to set pen to paper.

The Off Topic Writing Retreat will give you the time and structure you need to move forward in your writing journey.

Make new writer friends and spend as much time writing as you like! The retreat is largely self-directed with optional inspirational and community activities (see Schedule below).

ACCOMMODATIONS

Guests at the Off Topic Writing Retreat will stay at the Tan-y-Bryn B&B Inn. Single rooms and double rooms are available – every room is unique. (Bathrooms are shared; some rooms have an ensuite sink.)

All rooms come with:

  • a mini fridge
  • down duvets
  • feather pillows
  • complementary continental breakfast served in-room (apple or orange juice, tea or coffee [decaffeinated coffee is available and teas are supplied by Banff Tea Company], fresh baked croissants, toast and preserves)

Shared bathrooms and rooms with sinks are stocked with Rocky Mountain Soap products, including:

  • foaming hand wash
  • oat lotion

Showers have:

  • shampoo
  • conditioner
  • body wash

Other amenities:

  • two hair dryers for general use
  • small microwave in common area
  • Keurig coffee-making station with a variety of teas, coffees and hot chocolate for the use of guests if you are craving a warm drink
  • free (password-protected) WiFi
  • air conditioning

Please note that this is a NON-SMOKING establishment.

The front garden with seating for up to nine is for use by the guests, a sunny spot to sit and think, tap on the laptop, or chat.

The registration fee does not include:

  • travel to/from/within Banff
  • transfers to and from the B&B or conference location
  • any meals or refreshments not listed in the itinerary
  • drinks at meals provided
  • travel insurance
  • farewell lunch
  • conference-only registration does NOT include accommodations

If you cancel:You will receive:
