Off Topic Contest

Guidelines For Sept 2021

Short Creative Non-Fiction:

Write a creative non-fiction story that takes place partly or entirely near water. This water can be anything from the ocean to a spilled glass. It can be in solid (ice, snow, glaciers) or liquid state. Be creative, as long as it’s clear that there is water in the story.

Stories should be under 1500 words.

All creative non-fiction genres, mixed genres, non-genres, and so on are accepted. For this category, we do not accept poetry, screenplays, or anything else that is not a prose story.

Submit by September 10, 2021, at 11:59pm PDT.

All stories will receive feedback from the judges.

Prize

As always, the winner will take home 50% of the submission fees. Their story will be published here at Off Topic and may be included in future anthologies.

Submission Fee:

$5 CAD (or more, if you would like to boost the prize pool and help cover costs)
